.The following material by Victor Thorn is perhaps unlike anything ever published in
AFP. It deals with controversial — even esoteric — seldom-discussed aspects of the
interplay between the mass media (the world of
entertainment in particular) and little-known techniques of mass manipulation of the public consciousness through both physical means as well as more mystical — one might even say “occult” — processes.
The topic of historic, age-old intellectual and scientific debate — as well as the focus of rigorous technical inquiry beginning certainly in the 1950s (and in some cases, even long before) by intelligence agencies of the United States, the Soviet Union, Britain and Israel, to name a few — the concepts of “brainwashing” and “mind control” are very real and not just the stuff of fantasy.
The well-known and long-time existence of a variety of what are called “cults” is down-to-earth proof such things do in fact exist.
In recent years, publicity surrounding Hollywood star Tom Cruise and his unusual relationship with the Church of Scientology brought a certain amount of public attention to one very small corner of this unusual realm, but many tend to dismiss the subject matter as some sort of quirky fad deserving relegation to supermarket tabloids.
However, there’s much more to the story of mind control and it’s been documented in a number of serious scholarly works, not to mention reported upon in lengthy detail in 1975 in The New York Times and The Washington Post following the famous congressional inquiry into covert U.S. intelligence activities conducted by the late then- Sen. Frank Church (D-Idaho). More recently, the CIA’s mind-control devilry has been the topic of a new book, A Terrible Mistake: The Murder of Frank Olson and the CIA’s Secret Cold War Experiments. The series of articles published in this issue of AFP will certainly stir some debate among our readers, just as they did among the AFP staff. Some AFP staffers felt the articles were, frankly, bizarre, somewhat “far out” and had little place in
AFP. Others were enthusiastic, saying that a lot of
the readers will be fascinated.

Hollywood Actors Speak Out Against Perverse Industry

Unlike the old Hollywood studio system where actors were little more than pieces of meat run through a grinding machine, today’s stars — at least occasionally—are speaking out against Tinseltown’s abuses.
Summing up a culture that feeds off desperation, model-actress Melyssa Ford told reporters,“If your ultimate goal is to be famous, then you’re going to do a lot to get there, like sign your name in blood on a contract with the devil.”
Comedian Dave Chappelle, who admittedly professes an interest in conspiracy theories such as AIDS being man-made, got so fed up with the industry that he fled to Africa. Upon returning, he said of Hollywood, “The environment is sick.”
Actor Randy Quaid, while on the run from authorities, held a press conference on Oct. 29, 2010 where he dropped a bombshell, asserting: “We believe there to be a malignant tumor of star-whackers in Hollywood. . . . How many people do you know personally who have died suddenly and mysteriously in the last five years? I have personally known eight actors, Heath Ledger, Chris Penn and David Carradine among them . . . I believe these actors were whacked, and I believe many others, such as Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Mel Gibson are being played to get at their money.”
On May 16 leading lady Sean Young, who starred in the movies Blade Runner and Wall Street, appeared on Red Ice Radio where she exposed what many AFP readers already know. “Humanity is being preyed upon, as a species, not only by old satanic families like the Rothschilds and Rockefellers, Collins, Dupont, Warner, Russell, [plus] the world’s monarchies and the Vatican, but they’re also preyed upon by governments, the military, banking institutions and academia,” she said.
Pop singer Michael Jackson, who many feel was a victim of the wrath of these powerful sources, took on Sony Music and its president Tommy Mattola in June 2002. “Tommy Mattola is the devil,” he told a cheering audience. “We have to continue our drive until he’s terminated.” A never-ending string of scandals and lawsuits plagued Jackson until his suspicious death from the knockout drug propofol in 2009.
