`Democracy Test'

A prominent Israeli political figure is demanding a global litmus test for determining whether or not other nations are acting “democratically.” In a commentary entitled “Democracy’s Price of Admission”—published in The New York Times on June 5—Tzipi Livni, the former Israeli vice prime minister and minister of foreign affairs and now leader of Kadima, the Israeli opposition party, has asserted this:
 The international community must adopt at the global level what true democracies apply at the national one—a universal code for participation in democratic elections. This would include requiring every party running for office to renounce violence, pursue its aim[s] by peaceful means and commit to binding laws and international agreements.
This code should be adopted by international institutions, like the United Nations, as well as regional bodies. It would guide elector monitors and individual nations in deciding whether to accord parties the stamp of democratic legitimacy, and sig- nal to voters that electing an undemocratic party would have negative international consequences for their country.
Livni claims the intent here “is not to stifle disagreement, exclude key actors from the political process or suggest that democracy be uniform and disregard local cultures and values.”
Livni—a former officer of Israel’s overseas intelligence service, the Mossad—is demanding that there be a global police agency to control the domestic political agenda and endeavors of all active electoral movements in every nation on the planet, under threat of foreign boycott or other form of aggressive intervention.
The aim is clear: to suppress—really, oppress—any political effort perceived to be inimical to the state of Israel, the global Zionist imperium, or the various activities of influential Jewish groups such as the Anti-Defamation League, the American Jewish Congress, the American Jewish Committee and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (among many others in the United States and elsewhere).
In fact, groups such as the ADL and the others named have a long history of declaring any opposition to their agenda to be “anti-democratic,” and now there is thus declared a drive to ensure that political parties worldwide march in lockstep to the Zionist drumbeat
